Masterpieces from the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Art
The Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Art, located in Shirokanedai, Minato-ku, Tokyo, is a private art museum that exhibits the collection of industrialist HATAKEYAMA Issei. The founder, HATAKEYAMA Issei, proclaimed himself Sokuō, enjoyed Noh theater and the tea ceremony, and endeavored to collect works of art. The collection consists of antique art objects, mainly tea utensils. There are about 1,300 items, including 6 national treasures and 33 important cultural properties. For the first time in Kyushu, this exhibition introduces selected masterpieces of the tea ceremony and Rimpa from the collection of the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Art.
