110th anniversary Teppei Ujiyama: Yamato-gokoro
This year marks the 110th anniversary since the birth of the painter UJIYAMA Teppei (1910-1986) from Hita city in Oita prefecture.
This exhibition introduces the source of his art mainly by following his words about inspiration; nature of Hita, the picture scroll of Heian period, the Mandala, and so on. It is a chance to view his main works from the early print works to the post-war Painting Series composed of vivid forms, late Yamato-gokoro series, which is full of Japanese spirit.
