Sato Masaharu Trace-Absence of Presence / Presence of Absence
Sato Masaharu was born in Usuki City located in the south part of the Oita Prefecture in 1973. He creates animation and two-dimensional works with the "rotoscope" technique. The technique is to finely trace common life sceneries in a computer after shooting them with video camera. These works make the audience feel the presence and the fragility of things at the same time. He died at the age of 45 in 2019. In this exhibition, we will show his works including his major works such as "Calling", "Tokyo Trace" and "Fukushima Trace".
